Hello to all of you out here enjoying We Heart Books, man I adore this forum.
So I am actually just learning how this all works, please be patient with me as I play around with all of the awesomeness.
So Introductions... because I did say something about that...
I am the sole blogger and reviewer over at Book Banshee. You can find my page on the Facebook or on my blog page Book Banshee. I have been blogging for close to a year now, but have been fully submerged in the book community for close to 4 years. I climbed through the ranks starting out as a reading, joining a handful of street teams, beta reading for a select group of authors; which I still do. Before I started an official blog page I tested the waters by starting a small book group on Facebook, and from there I transitioned into the Book Banshee, although I have been known to shift into the "Little Wolf" or "Baby Wolf" over at Wolfie's Fantasy Book Blog when Mama Wolfie needs an extra set of blogger hands.
I think that is about it for introductions, you will learn more about me as a blogger and person the more you read from me.
I suppose I should let you know how I review as well.
You can view the fully detailed "Scream System"* by visiting Here.
Or you can get the gist of it here too, or more so... because I was lazy and copy and pasted this section.
I look at 5 specific elements that are important to great book writing. Each element is broken down into 4 sub-categories, each sub-category is worth a quarter of a Scream/Star making each element worth 1 Scream total.
Plot:
Was the Plot engaging?
Did the Plot/Story have a nice pace?
Was the Plot clear?
Was the Plot line easy to follow?
Characters:
Were the Characters well developed?
Were the Characters consistent; both in dialogue and mannerisms?
Were the Characters dimensional?
Were the Characters memorable?
Writing Style/Voice:
Did the story and Writing Style flow nicely?
Was the Dialog/ Monologue believable?
Was the Voice well honed/developed?
Were words or phrases overused?
Editing:
NOTE: I expect books to have errors and I do not expect perfection. In this part of the rating system I automatically assume that I will find errors. Below you will find a list of things that distract me from the story.
Were there any glaring issues with content? Did identifying character markers change without an explanation?
Were the errors numerous?
Were punctuation and grammar used correctly? Were their any spelling errors or misuse of words? I am not the grammar police, and I don’t always know where to place a comma or when to use a semicolon...but if I get hung up on a sentence or paragraph trying to make it read right, it is not something I can overlook.
Non-Fiction: Were facts accurate? Fiction: Was the story consistent and logical to the story?
Story Building:
Did the book have a good hook? Did it draw me in and make me fall in love with or root for the character?
Was there conflict?
Was there resolution?
Did it have a satisfying ending?
* Scream System * This system is subject to change at anytime without notice.
I will be posting my past reviews here slowly, in rapid succession, and then probably take a hiatus for a few and then start adding them again at random until I am caught up and adding them here on the regular as I review.
Any Questions? Comments? Recommendations? Suggestions? Tips? Random thoughts?

Love Always,
