Sometimes, you need a book you can just fall into, lose an hour or two and just READ, you know?? A book that isn't complicated, doesn't have any plots twists, any nutty exes or anything. A book that is far too stinking cute for its own goo and this is such a book!
Rafael has been best friends with Dustin for over ten years, loved him for most of that time, but Dusty doesn't see Raf that way. However, it takes a conversation with their friends to make Dusty see just what their friends see: that Dusty and Raf really are perfect for each other.
I LOVED this, I really did! It's been a while since I had such a warm and fuzzies AND too stinking cute book and this one hit that nail squarely on the head!
It's well told, from both Dusty and Raf's point of view. So we get all of Raf's feelings for Dusty before those conversations with their friends, and again later. We get all of his worry for one of his students and what she is going through. We get his excitement for Dusty passing his flying test. We get all of Dusty's dawning realization of just what Raf means to him, how MUCH Raf means to him. His joy at passing his test and buying a freaking plane! And we get, in tiny little steps, Dustin moving their friendship into something much much more.
It's not overly explicit, and I loved that it wasn't. Doesn't need to be. It's more about the emotions of both men and how they deal with the change in their relationship.
This is the second book by Brook I've read. I'd like to read more. She impressed me greatly here, and it's been a while since a warm and fuzzies slash too stinking cute impressed me enough to get the full...
5 stars!
