Hi, I'm Barbara Lieberman! I have published six books (so far) and am always working on several others as I write.
I am a writer whose stories are about the power of words, the power of love, and the consequences of the choices we make. A New Jersey native, I moved to beautiful Southern California to start a new life. That new life now includes being Editor-in-Chief for TribeLA Magazine. I am also the mother of two amazing young adults, an avid gardener, a life-long (and long-suffering) Phillies fan and a voracious reader. I was voted one of the 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading for 2015.Reading Is Fundamental A portion of all sales of my books and book swag support Project Semicolon . And I am a Reading Is Fundamental Author Partner.
The Treasure of Ravenwood: A Fairy Tale
A fairy tale written at the request of my daughter, of love, loyalty, and staying true to oneself. She asked for her own version of "Beauty and the Beast meets Cinderella" but, in this version, the heroine is her own fairy godmother. Treasure of Ravenwood has been voted to the top 40 Best Chapter Books for Young Girls List on Goodreads. Barbara also donates signed copies to Reading is Fundamental of Southern California, so that children may know the joy of owning their own book.
To Miss the Stars:
John Worthington is a man who knows his place in the world and keeps to it. That is, until a letter he writes is misdirected. A simple and thoughtful reply begins a correspondence that will turn that well-ordered life upside down. Readers compare To Miss the Stars to the passion of Jane Eyre and the prose of Jane Austen.
Message on the Wind:
Would you follow your heart, if it meant leaving behind everything and everyone you've ever known? Board a train with Ellen Price and travel to a new life, to escape the danger she faces in Boston. Even as she begins a new life in the Wyoming Territory, she'll change the lives of all she meets. The first book in the McEwen Series.
To Reap a Whirlwind:
The McEwen family builds a life in the Wyoming Territory. The effects of the choices they make will reverberate through future generations. Whose dreams will come true and whose will be dashed forever? The second book in the McEwen series.
Ben’s Little Acorn
An illustrated children’s book that tells the story of a little acorn’s hopes and dreams. Original illustrations by Jessica Johnson. There is a matching coloring activity book as well. Barbara also donates signed copies to Reading is Fundamental of Southern California, so that children may know the joy of owning their own book.
A Horde of Dragons: (due out July, 2016):
A collaborative anthology of original dragon stories, including “Dragonmarsh” by Barbara Lieberman.
Why Does the Moon Follow Me? (due out July, 2016):
A new illustrated children’s book, with Jessica Johnson’s original illustrations.
The Unchained Spirit (due out October, 2016):
According to Barbara Lieberman, living with a chronic illness like Multiple Sclerosis is like living with a monster in your closet. In The Unchained Spirit, she shares her challenges and her triumphs, as she faces that monster each and every day.
