About Me:
I have traveled all my life. I was a missionary kid in Kenya for a time, was a Professor's kid bouncing back and forth between Maine and Arkansas, spent some time on a navy submarine, was a long haul truck driver for a year to see the country, (and get away from clients), and moved my long-suffering wife to half a dozen states in half a dozen years to begin our marriage. I was forced to settle down when my two sons reached school age. Fast forward through fifteen years of structural design, the boys are grown and it is time to travel once again.
I am also a lover of commas, scattering them about like fertilizer on the garden of my words. My editor is working tirelessly to cure me, but she is only human, I think. I am also prone to rambling.
I began writing poetry decades ago, but I only subject people to it on request. I only began writing books a few years ago, and only got serious about it three years ago. I don't do serious well or for very long at a stretch.
Find me on Facebook, or twitter, my website, or wandering the beach in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I will have links for all but the beach if I can figure it out...technology frightens me.
Chip Davis, Author, photographer, generally amusing fellow... welcome to my life.
My website of my photography, books, and foolishness
Facebook Author page (because I'm easily confused)

There you have it! I'm sure you can find me if you want me, now it is up to you to want me. It's out of my hands!
My books:
Trail of the Raven, Haiti on Amazon
Jack's life consisted of new schools, in new towns, with the same old problems. The pattern continued until he saw Ana deep in the woods. Through Ana, Jack developed a keen interest in learning who he was and where he came from, his ancestors. "The best way to learn about your ancestors is to put yourself in the same environment they were in. It isn't enough to know what they did. If you really want to know them, you need to learn about what shaped them into who they were." Those were Ana's words. Her death left Jack with the realization that he knew little of this amazing woman who was his adopted mother. The first step of Jack's quest takes him to the last place she visited before his adoption, the island of Haiti. New friends, unexpected events, and the island itself give Jack a greater understanding of Ana and ultimately himself. Come with Jack as he begins his Journey.
Squirrel Bait on Amazon
Tonya has an unusual passion for books, even for a librarian. When her books are harmed she takes it personally. When people turn up dead over damaged books, there are questions to answer. When the killer is a weresquirrel, the questions become more confusing.
There is a certain pretentiousness in classical literature. Elegant writing filled with meaning both astounding and sublime. This is not that. Not horrific enough to be horror, nor humorous enough to be comedy, welcome to Chip’s Dollar Dreadfuls. There may not be any fundamental truths, but there will be blood...so much blood.
